Monique and Joe – Farmers Branch Wedding

Monique and Joe’s day started at Farmer’s Branch Historical Park.  It was a gazebo wedding and we couldn’t have asked for a better day.  Poor Joe was a nervous wreck that day while Monique was the polar opposite, calm, cool and collected.  You just never know what sort of emotions will be evoked on a wedding day but it’s always fun to find out.  It was an emotional ceremony with Joe shedding a few tears at the alter with Monique wiping them away as the minister spoke.   Joe let loose at the reception, along with everyone else so it was one of the more entertaining receptions that I ever covered.   Here are a few of my favorites from their day.

Sara – Mountain Springs Bridal Session

I shot Sara’s engagements with her fiance, Dylan a few months before and I wasn’t sure if Sara would have her dress in time for us to squeeze in a Bridal session.   Lucky for me it was ready in time.  Sara wanted a fresh, country feel so we decided on a private residence in Mountain Springs, Texas.   It was more like a hotel or bed and breakfast.  I got a private tour and I swear there were at least 10 rooms, indoor swimming pool, workout room and an elevator.  It was really incredible.   Poor Sara was getting hit hard by allergies.  Her eyes were red and her nose was driving her nuts but she hung in there like the trooper that she is.   Here are some of my favorites.

Sara and Dylan – Denton Engagement Session

Sara and Dylan decided to meet up with me at a park that is a special place to them located by the Denton Civic Center.  Both are big fans of Toms foot ware, so much so that the entire wedding party would be donning them on their wedding day.  When they first started to date, they would often have picnics at this quaint little park and still continue to do so to this day.  Afterwards, we walked around the Denton square, which has all sorts of unique buildings with old fire escapes and old industrial warehouses that are really neat to photograph at.  To wrap up the engagement session, Dylan had created a “concoction” with food coloring and baking soda (I think) and would have a “color” fight at Eureka Park in Denton.    Needless to say, we had a great time.   Since then, I’ve photographed Sara’s bridals but I have to wait until their wedding day to unveil those.  Sorry Dylan, you have to wait until your big day.

Sara and Rob – Denton Wedding

When I first met Sara and Rob, Sara told me that she was going to design and create most  of the wedding details, including her shoes, the bridesmaids bouquets and groomsmen corsage’s.  I thought she was going a little bit over her head but she seemed determined and confident.  Well not only did she pull it off but she pulled it off spectacularly.  Her shoes, bouquets and corsages were made out of comics.  That’s right, comics from comic books.  It was unreal.  Not only did she make those but she also made sliced wood chips that her guests would sign and leave at the welcoming table.  She is a very talented woman.  The wedding was shot at the Buffalo Valley Event Center in North Denton that has live buffalo roaming on the grounds.   It’s a really nice place, with “one-stop” shopping and a good fit for the couple that like a little country theme.  The wedding ceremony was scheduled to take place outdoors but as luck would have it, rain dominated the day but as they say, that IS good luck.   Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.
