When I first met Sara and Rob, Sara told me that she was going to design and create most of the wedding details, including her shoes, the bridesmaids bouquets and groomsmen corsage’s. I thought she was going a little bit over her head but she seemed determined and confident. Well not only did she pull it off but she pulled it off spectacularly. Her shoes, bouquets and corsages were made out of comics. That’s right, comics from comic books. It was unreal. Not only did she make those but she also made sliced wood chips that her guests would sign and leave at the welcoming table. She is a very talented woman. The wedding was shot at the Buffalo Valley Event Center in North Denton that has live buffalo roaming on the grounds. It’s a really nice place, with “one-stop” shopping and a good fit for the couple that like a little country theme. The wedding ceremony was scheduled to take place outdoors but as luck would have it, rain dominated the day but as they say, that IS good luck. Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.
Me and Malinda go back a few years. After I bid adieu to Los Angeles and my career at Getty Images, I worked for an educational company that specialized in online curriculum, photographing all sorts things. From stock to photography to video productions. It was quite fun and I met some incredibly talented people while I was there. Malinda is a creative genius and a master at her craft which is graphic design. We worked on the same team for about 2 years and after I left the company, to work as a full time photographer and start my own business, me and Malinda kept in touch through social media. One day I received a phone call from here asking me to photograph her wedding. Needless to say I jumped at the chance. She met a great guy, Ian, who is also an extremely talented artist.
These two were made for each other and I really enjoy seeing her updates on those social media sites.
I met Shelly through some acquaintances and we talked about how photography and weddings, etc. Well, Shelly never had a bridal session done and after kicking it around, we decided to do that for her even after many years of marriage. Shelly is a full time Mom and she still rocked her wedding dress after all those years, with elegance and grace. So thankful to have done this for her. We photographed Shelly’s Bridal session at Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas.
I met Mari and Fabian through a referral from a previous wedding that I had photographed. Up until the day of the shoot, we had only spoken a few times and had a couple of emails. I met up with them in the lobby at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Dallas in hopes of getting on the roof for some killer scenic views. Fabian had some connections there and any tricks he pulled off worked very well. We then moved on to get some really great shots downtown, Turtle Creek and at the place where they first met, and still continue to go to, The Red River Dance Hall. Both of them are Latin and are extremely passionate about one another. You can definitely see that in their photos.
